TUNING BOARD FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT IS A TUNING BOARD™?

The Tuning Board is a balance board device that provides a moving surface upon which someone can stand, sit or kneel. It is a somatic movement tool which articulates and enhances one’s relationship to gravity. To be in gravity requires us to make continual fine adjustments through the body’s nervous system. Injuries, trauma, poor habits, bad conditioning, etc., contribute to the loss of our ability to maintain and enhance this quality in our minds and bodies. Loss of this capability results in rigidity, dissociation and general or specific areas of “stuckness”. These immobilities prevent the transmission of integrated micromovements through the nervous system, movements which inform our thoughts, emotions, creativity and sense of self.

WHAT DOES THE TUNING BOARD DO?

The Tuning Board offers a safe and constant flow of movement through the body that gently touches the deepest parts of the nervous system. The Tuning Board movement is a gentle amplification and gentle acceleration of natural healing and resourcing motion through the body at the deepest levels of the nervous system, particularly in regard to natural human verticality.

The Tuning Board movement is a gentle amplification and gentle acceleration of natural healing and resourcing motion through the body at the deepest levels of the nervous system, particularly in regard to natural human verticality. It provides the opportunity to practice resiliency of the nervous system and the ability to more effectively balance changes in stability and motion on many levels.
